Valentines Day: School Girl Inspired

Boston, Boston blogger, Fashion, womens fashion, womenswear

This look has cozy lunch date written all over it.  It look is so simple and sweet and perfect for a day time date.  It’s a touch of school girl mixed effortless bohemian braids to create the perfect look.  For those of you who aren’t the biggest fan of makeup, a little blush and mascara goes a long way when paired with the right hair style.  A lived in braid makes any look feel effortless.

The tweed jacket is from Nordstrom BP, the dress is by JOA , the bag is from H&M, and the shoes are by Vince Camuto.  The earrings are from JCrew and the ring is from Cusp, the lip color is Tokyo by NYX Cosmetics.

Olivia Palermo Inspired

Boston blogger, casual, Fashion, fashion blogger

When it comes to best street style, Olivia Palermo takes the cake. Her style is always polished, put together and coordinated. Her combination of distressed denim and a fur coat look inspired today’s outfit.  I couldn’t decide which bag I liked better, so I shot with both.  Which accessory do you like best?

Black x Florals

I kept my outfit monochromatic and added color with a floral blazer and pastel pumps.  The high neckline of the turtleneck intensifies the black in the blazer and brings out the pinks and reds.

Menswear Monday: Neutrals and Leather

Repeat after me: you can never go wrong with neutrals and leather.  These are two key guidelines for a men’s wardrobe.  When it comes to clothes, you can’t go wrong with neutral pieces.  They go with any and everything.

Another must is a leather jacket.  It is the perfect layering piece for a touch of edge.  It is also great for Spring, Fall, and layering underneath a heavier jacket for some texture.

Metallics After the Holidays: Gold Sweater

Boston, Boston blogger, casual, Fashion, fashion blogger, holiday, holiday outfit,, minimalist, ootd, outfit, outfit inspiration, womens fashion, womenswear

This is the second addition of metallics after the holidays.  Today I’m focusing on how to wear a sparkly gold sweater.  Even during the holidays this was a tough piece to wear.  However, taking it out of a formal context,  I was easily able to wear and accessorize the sweater.

Metallics After the Holidays: Bronze Skirt

Boston, Boston blogger, casual, Fashion, fashion blogger, holiday, holiday outfit,, minimalist, neutrals, ootd, outfit, outfit inspiration, womens fashion, womenswear

Metallics, sequins and sparkles are a must during the holidays, especially for New Years.  However, once the holidays are over trends lose their sparkle.  Why not keep the sparkles alive?

Today’s outfit is a day time look that incorporates metallics in a casual way.

IMG_4624.jpgIMG_4626.jpgIMG_4632.jpgIMG_4634.jpgIMG_4645.JPGIMG_4639.JPGIMG_4647.JPGThe top and skirt are from Nordstrom BP, the skirt is by MimiChica, the leather jacket is by Bar3, and the shoes are from Lord and Taylor and by Sam Edelman.  The earrings are by Alexis Bittar, the ring is from Silpada and the bag is vintage, and from The Costume Company.

This look is sleek, and doesn’t feel too over the top.  Metallics are a great way to add a subtle pop to your outfit.  The skirt adds the texture and sheen that this outfit needs.

How do you wear metallics?

Studded

From the studded sleeves, to the open hem denim, today’s outfit is all in the details.  This is a work inspired look that I wanted to make appropriate for a night out.  I combined edgy and feminine pieces, but tried to keep it casual.

Texture, Leather x Leather

Boston, Boston blogger, casual, city, coordinates, Fashion, fashion blogger, holiday, holiday outfit,, minimalist, ootd, ootn, outfit, outfit inspiration, street style, womens fashion, womenswear

This look came together when I paired my leather patterned top and bottom.  Even though I bought them separately, they both have the same hole punched pattern, so they feel cohesive.  The other accessories are just as edgy, spiked bottom boots and a fur coat.

The look combines many different textures.  The leather on leather feels like a coordinate piece and the shoes tie it together.  The coat brings a pop of color and elongates the silhouette.  This is a great outfit for a night out or a holiday party.

The top is from TJMaxx and by Bailey 44, the skirt is from Nordstrom BP, the boots are from LF in Cambridge and by Sam Edelman, and the coat is from a market in China.  The earrings are from Aldo, the ring is from JCrew and the spiked bracelet is from Urban Outfitters.
