Menswear Monday: Neutrals and Leather

Repeat after me: you can never go wrong with neutrals and leather.  These are two key guidelines for a men’s wardrobe.  When it comes to clothes, you can’t go wrong with neutral pieces.  They go with any and everything.

Another must is a leather jacket.  It is the perfect layering piece for a touch of edge.  It is also great for Spring, Fall, and layering underneath a heavier jacket for some texture.

Menswear Monday: Red Flannel

Today’s look is a dressier take on how to wear a flannel.  Typically flannels read as a casual, daytime look and are traditionally worn with some wash of blue denim.  Instead of wearing blue denim, Jordan paired the flannel with black denim and suede boots.  In addition to the accessories, the flannel fits more like a dress shirt, fitted and flattering.  This gives a much more put together appearance.

 

The flannel is from Nordstrom Rack and by Jared Lang, the denim is from Pacsun, the shoes are from JCrew and the watch is by Diesel.

When it comes to clothing, fit and accessories are extremely important.  They determine how an outfit reads.  I highly suggest fitted clothing for men who want to look put together and polished.  A tailored fit is always figure flattering and professional.

Menswear Monday: City Style

Today’s look mixes casual and formal pieces to create a cool, urban look.

  The look combines a graphic tee with formal chinos and adds textural pieces with leather and suede boots.

The letterman is from Urban Outfitters, the tee is by Ilthy, the chinos are from Club Monaco and the shoes are from JCrew.

  I love this look because it is true to Jordan’s style. This is a great look for a night out in the city.

Menswear Monday: Mustard Yellow and Navy

As much as I love documenting what I wear, I also like to show what styles that I am inspired by.  I have always been interested in my boyfriend’s style because it is more urban and edgy than mine.  He loves to pair different colors together in unique ways and has a specific aesthetic that he adheres to.

This look was planned around his newly purchased JCrew shoes; suede wingtip navy shoes.  He combined a navy and brown tones with mustard yellow and it looked very sharp.

I love the retro feel of these shoes, their intricate design is really interesting.

The shirt is from Michael Kors, the pants are from Pacsun, and the shoes are from JCrew.  The watch is from Kenneth Cole.  The shirt has some brown tones, so it pairs well with the mustard pants and the brown sole of the shoes.  I wouldn’t think to pair these colors together, but I love the way that they look.

This is a great look for dinner.
