Laced Up

Fashion

Recently, I bought this lace up leotard at the LF annual sale.  I have been on the hunt for a lace up leotard for a while now, so finding one on sale was really exciting!  The leotard was also long in the body, so yes tall girls this leotard fits.

I paired the leotard with high waisted denim, a leather jacket and heeled boots for a late night look.

The leather jacket is by Bar3, the leotard is from LF, the denim is by American Eagle and the boots are by Vince Camuto.  The earrings are from The Closet Boutique at the Jersey Shore, the ring is by Alexis Bittar, and the clutch is vintage from The Costume Company.

Dark Flares

Fashion

Another trend sweeping the streets of New York is flared pants, one of the major styles is black flared pants like these Pixie Market ones.  Feeling inspired, I grabbed my floral pair, a turtleneck and statement Rocksbox necklace.

The leather jacket is by Bar3, the turtleneck is by Zara and the bell bottoms are an Urban Outfitters sale rack find (I got them two years ago).  The earrings are vintage and the necklace is from Rocksbox, and the shoes are by Sam Edelman.

Formal in Vintage Fur

Fashion

Fur coats and accessories have been all over fashion week.  From bright colors to subtle hues, fur and faux fur have been a major statement on and off the runway.  Seeing all these beautiful ensembles inspired me to pull out my mom’s vintage fur coat to dress my look up.  The base of the outfit is a sleek button up with metallic back pants and pointed toe heels.  However, pairing the vintage fur totally changed the feel of this outfit, and gave it an old Hollywood glam vibe.

The button up is from Anthropologie, the coat is vintage, the denim is by JCrew and the shoes are by Audrey Brooke.  The earrings are by Kendra Scott and from RocksBox, the ring is by Alexis Bittar and my bag is by Loeffler Randall.

Bright Pops of Color

Fashion

I recently purchased a JCrew tall tangerine blazer on sale, and have been dying to wear it.  I love the bright color because it is a great statement piece that will definitely stand out.  To enhance the color, I wore turquoise accessories and frayed denim.

I wore the blazer as a deep V-neck shirt, over frayed denim and leopard pumps.  In my opinion there are two ways to style a low top with jewelry.  One way is with the earrings being the statement and the other with a necklace.  Below are these two different ways.  Tell me what you think!

IMG_6288.jpgThe blazer and denim are by JCrew, the shoes are by Renvy and the bag is by Hendri Bendel.  The earrings and ring were a gift from a local jeweler and the necklace is from Neiman Marcus and by Janise.

Which look do you like better?

Rocksbox

Fashion

When it comes to jewelry, I tend to wear my go to pieces on repeat.  I love minimal jewelry that gives a touch of edge, or statement necklaces that make an outfit.  Aside from that, I have a hard time branching out to different styles and trends.  Knowing this, my friend recommended a site called Rocksbox to help me break out of my comfort zone.

At Rocksbox, you can rent 3 pieces of jewelry without having to buy an individual item.  I am in the process of trying it out, and just received some adorable pieces that you will see in my upcoming shoots.

Speaking for myself, I can say that the jewelry is high quality and by brand names.  The Rocksbox stylists pick pieces from your wish list to send to you to try out.   You have a test run with these different styles and either purchase or return them.  I love this idea because I like to get a feel for how the item fits with my wardrobe before I buy it.

Pink Shirt Dress Vacation Version

Fashion

In preparation for my upcoming vacation, I’ve been planning a lot of outfits.  Today’s look is the vacation version of my pink dress from Wednesday.  It is much lighter and more playful.  I paired the dress with fringe sandals, a fedora and embellished beach bag.

Travel Wear

Fashion

Kendall Jenner has the ability to makes athleisure chic.  She effortlessly pairs crop tops with sportswear for the perfect travel outfit.  My travel looks take a lot of inspiration from her.  Since I am traveling to Tulum today, I thought it would be the perfect time to showcase this look.

WhoWhatWear coined this style as the bridging look because of the way she creates a long lean silhouette with the outerwear, leaving a “bridge” of skin showing in the middle.  I personally love this look and think it is very flattering, especially if you are long and lean.  Hint, tall ladies!

The leather jacket is by Bar3, the crop top is from Urban Outfitters, and the leggings are a tall and from Athleta, the sneakers are from Nordstrom Rack and men’s Nike.

What do you wear to travel?

Recently, I purchased a suede pastel pink dress for my upcoming trip to Tulum.  It is such a cute piece, that I wanted to wear it immediately.  Here is my winterized version of the look.  I stayed true to it’s 90’s nature and paired it with a choker, leather jacket and knee high boots.

Tall Trends: Statement Sleeves

Fashion

Tall ladies, there is finally, a trend that takes our daily struggles and makes them chic.  So-long struggles of sleeves that are too short, hello super long sleeves.  Statement sleeves are a trend on the rise.  Keep an eye out for longer than normal sleeves because this trend is going to pick up.

Here are two of my looks that utilize a statement sleeve.  The first look is a decorative Free People long sleeve (a tride and true favorite of mine).  The second is a Forever21 sweater paired with a Zara Poncho Coat.

With this trend, the more personality your sleeves have, the better.  Pair a regular long sleeve shirt with a shorter sleeved coat, or find a super long sleeved shirt and pair it with a regular fitting jacket.  Free People’s Ski Lodge Cuff is sure to do the trick, their sleeves are always long and beautifully decorated.  Zara also has trendy pieces, so I would scope their website and store.  I just bought their Basic Poplin Blouse for some extra flare, pun intended.  Although the sleeves aren’t super long, I love the style.

Soft Blues and Tweed

Fashion, womens fashion, womenswear

Today’s look was prompted by the recent 90’s trend that has made a comeback: tweed.  This playful texture is the perfect addition to your wardrobe.  I toned my tweed down with a light chambray button down, medium wash denim and pastel pumps.

Can’t wait to see how you wear your tweed!
