OBag Newbury Launch

Blogger events, Boston, Boston bloggers, Fashion

Last weekend I visited Boston, and attended the launch of OBag on Newbury.  I stopped by the adorable venue before the event and met Jo the owner to customize my own bag.  She described the product as “build-a-bear for women” and I couldn’t agree more.  The process is tailored to you; you pick the style of bag, liner, handle and accessory and Jo creates it within minutes.

Following my visit, I went back for the launch party.  I met some lovely ladies and learned more about the product.  If you’re on (128) Newbury, I highly suggest stopping in!

Today’s look has a neutral color palette with a pops of animal prints.  The basic pieces of the outfit look sleek together.  This is an easy outfit to slip on an run errands.  The pictures were taken by blogger, Roses and Rose.

Street Style: Dark Lip and Maxi Dress

This was another look that was shot with Roses and Rose, and it was the edgiest too. The outfit is a different silhouette than I typically wear.  When I dress, I don’t usually wear fitted clothing, unless it’s balanced with a looser piece.  This dress had a monochromatic fully fitted silhouette.  The dress reads as formal because of the slim cut and long hem.  To dress it down, I paired it with a leather jacket, dark lip and Adidas sneakers.

I’m wearing a leather jacket by Bar3, dress from Zara, and shoes by Adidas.  The earrings are from Bloomingdales and by AQUA, and the bag is from LF.

We shot during the later part of the afternoon, so the sun was setting throughout the shoot.  These pictures transition from non flash to flash because of the lighting.

The jacket broke up the monochromatic dress and hit at the waist, creating a slimming effect.  The vertical stripes on the dress elongates the body and give a seamless, lean look.  When shopping for a dress, or pants, remember that vertical stripes slim and elongate the body.

Derby Street Sephora Blogger Event

Blogger events, Boston bloggers, Derby St, Fashion, ootd, womens fashion

This past Thursday I was invited to a blogger event celebrating the opening of the new Sephora at The Derby Shops in Hingham.  I put on a cute outfit and picked up my High School mentee Hannah from her house and we headed there.

I wore a fitted black turtleneck with a wool mini skirt, ankle boots and a leather jacket.

I recently bought this skirt from Madewell and I couldn’t be more in love.  The style is extremely flattering and fresh.  I don’t normally wear short skirts, but I love where it hits.  The top is from Nordstrom and one of their simple turtlenecks.  The shoes are from Lord and Taylor, by Sam Edelman and the leather jacket is from Bar3.

Hannah and I at the event.

When Hannah and I walked in, we noticed how organized and pristine it was.  The Sephora beauty specialties stood by, eager to help and offered wonderful advice.  After mingling with the other bloggers, we all decided to try different lipstick colors, all of which were out of the box colors.

All of the beauty specialists helping everyone…they were amazing!

Hannah tried on a beautiful bright orange by Laura Mercier, our new friend Kayte tried a navy by Kat von D, Maddie tried on a light purple by Kat von D and I tried a green by Kat von D.  Theres nothing like a ladies night to make you have fun and try things that are out of your comfort zone.

The Sephora at The Derby Shops is beautiful and the people that work there are so friendly and helpful.  If you’re in need of new makeup you should stop by and consult with them!
