Stripes, Leather x Fur

The day after I got back from Asia, I was invited to a blogging event that I couldn’t pass up.  While getting ready, I thought that this would be the perfect time to showcase one of my China finds.  The find was a colorful fur bag that also doubled as a muff.

I wanted to play with texture and pattern since the bag had cooler tones of navy and a pinky purple.  I wore a striped navy blouse over black jeans with a sheen and topped it with a leather jacket.  The dark color combo really resonated well with the purse.

If you couldn’t tell I’m obsessed with this bag.

This is the bottom half of the look.  The creepers kept the look casual and cool with an edge.  I would typically opt for heels or boots for an event like this, but I was influenced by my practical traveling style.  I also prefer this look with these particular shoes.

The jacket is by Bar3, the blouse is from Forever21, the bag is from a China market, the jeans are from JCrew and the shoes are from Nordstrom and by Baila.

I love the way this look turned out and I hope you do too!

Fall Color Combinations

fall, ootd, womens fashion

Today’s outfit came together seamlessly, I was feeling colorful so I reached for my purple top and immediately knew what to wear it with: burnt orange pants.  The colors together make each other pop, but also harmonize well together.  To tie the whole outfit together, I wore a dark plaid scarf with burgundy and forest green.  Like yesterday’s post, my scarf made the outfit what it was.

The vibrant purple and orange working well together.

The oxfords gave the look a quirky school boy touch.  I wanted to keep the look light and I think the thin scarf and the oxfords accomplished that.

The top and bottoms are from Anthropologie, the scarf is vintage from my grandmother and the shoes are from Nordstrom and by Vince Camuto.

Here is the close up of the vintage scarf.

The blousy fit of the shirt offsets the fitted pants, balancing the fit.
