Parisian Peplum

Fashion, Spring, street style, womens fashion

Today’s look was brought to you by this adorable H&M top I bought a few weeks ago.  This pom-pom, polkadot peplum (try saying that three times fast) is too cute for words and I’m so happy I finally got to wear it!

I kept this look simple by pairing it with raw hemmed denim, platform heels and a pink jean jacket.  This is the perfect look for a daytime date, and I felt so comfortable and feminine in it (the shoes are a lot more comfortable than they appear). To me it channels the chic simplicity of Parisian style and is super easy to put together, 4 pieces.

Photography by the lovely Ktapphotography!  She specializes in portraits and is looking for couples to shoot with…so reach out to her!

The jean jacket was from TJMaxx, the top is from H&M, the denim is from JCrew and the shoes are by Steve Madden.  The earrings are by AQUA from Bloomingdales, the ring is by Cusp, and the bag is by Hobo International.

I hope you are inspired by this look, and pull out (or purchase) your peplum top for the warmer days ahead!

Happy Spring!

Burnt Orange x Polka Dots

Fashion, ootd

This look is one of those borrowed from the boys look, that is still feminine.  The pieces of the outfit are similar to mens, button down, corduroys and oxfords.  The patterns, colors and accessories sets the outfit apart.   I wore my hair in a half up do with pearl earrings and jeweled bracelet.  The pants offset the baggy top and give the look some shape.

The top is from JCrew, the pants are from Anthropologie and the shoes are from Nordstrom and by Vince Camuto.  My earrings are from Bloomingdales and by AQUA and the bracelet is from JCrew.

Here’s a close up of the look.  Louie was loving the attention.

Green Polkadots x Oxfords

Fashion, work ootd

I was feeling very playful this morning and decided to express that through my outfit.  I haven’t worn my green polkadot shirt in a while, so I thought it was time to bring it out for the (finally) sunny weather. I think the bright lip and Oxfords really took this outfit to another level.

Here is the look:   I wore Bite Cosmetics lipstick, my Grandmother’s vintage earrings and my hair in a top bun with Hot Buns.  Hot buns is this tool you put in your hair to create a full bun.

Here is the full look.  I am wearing a blazer from Nordstrom by Gibson, a button down and pants from JCrew and Oxfords by Vince Camuto.  Here is a close up of the Oxfords.  They were the highlight of my outfit (if you couldn’t tell). I love adding them to my outfits because they always add a quirky twist.

Cobalt x Neon Yellow

Fashion, Uncategorized

Today I planned my outfit around a piece of jewelry. I knew I wanted to wear my ornate blue and neon yellow necklace. I thought that it would pop against my polka dot grey shirt. I debated what pants to wear and suddenly remembered I had blue ones! And then another idea popped ino my mind. I have a neon yellow bag!

Here is the necklace that inspired brightly colored ensemble:

It is from JCrew!

This is a close up of everything! The ring is from Second Time Around! It is absolutely stunning!  Although it doesn’t quite match the color or the necklace, it is a similar style.

Here is the full look with the bag peeking in. The shirt is from JCrew as are the pants! The shoes are from Bloomingdales and by Ivanka Trump! I feel like the white shoes really relates to the polka dots and keeps the outfit fresh.

Last  but not least, here is the bag! It is a vibrant neon yellow! It’s by Betsy Johnson and was bought at Nordstrom before she went out of business.

I rarely wear these blue pants because I don’t know how I feel about the color. I must admit that this outfit has given me a new respect for them.

What are your thoughts?

Patterned Down to the Socks

Uncategorized

The 40 degree weather yesterday put some pep in my step. I decided to finally not wear boots to teach today. Since I was wearing prints on my shirt and shoes, I decided to keep the rest of my outfit simple.

I wore my favorite grey polka dot shirt, and grey sweater with pink elbow details from JCrew. I also wore a Leopard belt from JCrew with my Garage navy jeans. My socks are old socks that say kiss throughout them. Lastly, I wore my Oxford shoes by Vince Camuto.

How do you feel about mixing patterns?

Teaching Attire: Cute and Colorful

Uncategorized

I taught again today and decided to go for a cutesy outfit. I love pairing button down shirts with a loose sweater on top. Since both tops were grey I decided to add a pop of color with my pants.
