Valentines Day: Ode to the 90’s

Fashion

There is nothing more classic than the 90’s minimalist style, there were simple silhouettes and styles galore.  This look is an ode to the 90’s with a modern touch.  I paired a vintage leather skirt and a spaghetti strap crop top to create a coordinate-looking outfit.  The combination is sophisticated and elegant.

Everything about this look is simple and dainty, from the spaghetti strapped crop top, to the half moon bracelet.  The simple decor puts emphasis on the long, lean silhouette.  Tall ladies, this is a great look for you because long pencil skirts elongate and slim your shape.

The crop top from Zara, the fur coat is by Alice and Olivia and the shoes are from DSW and by Audrey Brooke.  The earrings, skirt and clutch are both vintage pieces, the earrings and skirt were my moms’ and the clutch was a gift.  The snake ring is from Wicked Peacock and the bracelet is from Lucky Brand.

Valentines Day: Belted in Black

Fashion

When in doubt, black is a great go to.  For this look, I paired a black sweater with a leather skirt and belted it at the waist.  This is a simple, but classic look that is great for a night time date.  The silhouette of the skirt creates a feminine silhouette that contrasts the fitted sweater.  The gold details on the belt draw attention to the waist and slim it.  Tall women: this look breaks up your shape and really draws attention to your lengthy legs.

The sweater is by America 525, the skirt and jacket are from Nordstrom BP, and the shoes are by Sam Edelman.  The earrings, necklace and ring are by Alexis Bittar, the bracelet is by Kate Spade, the belt is vintage, and the bag is by Halogen from Nordstrom.  The mauve lip color is Arch and Bow by Kat Von D.

Holiday Look: Sleek in Black

This is a sexier take on a holiday look and is all about the tailored fit.  The all black pieces create a long, lean silhouette that flatters the body.  This is a great holiday date night outfit.  And if this is too daring for you, all you need to do is add a peplum or strapless top underneath the blazer.  I would recommend something colorful or patterned.  I originally had a velvet, cobalt blue strapless top paired with it.

The blazer is from Nordstrom BP, the pants are from JCrew, the shoes were a gift from Renvy, and the earrings are from Bloomingdales and by AQUA.

I am all about the deep V neck and I couldn’t be more pleased with the look.  The blazer acts as a top with the black pants.  The pointed shoe keeps the look polished and put together.  The leopard and acrylic materials of the shoe add an interesting texture to the outfit.

What are you wearing for the holidays?

Black x Black

Earlier, you saw Jordan’s colorful approach to a fall outfit.  Like I said in my last post, I have a more minimal style and stick to neutrals.  I paired black on black for my outfit and let the textures and let the cut outs and textures do the talking.

Monochromatic outfits can be extremely chic if you pair them properly.  I like to wear textured pieces when I am in the same color, it adds an element of surprise.  This look paired multiple textures in the same hue and proved to be very chic.  My top was in a thick sweater material with subtle vertical stitches, and my bag was furry.

The hardware was a bright gold and it pops against the black.

My top is from Urban Outfitters (I got it recently for 30% off), my pants are from American Eagle (in extra long), my bag is from LF and  my shoes are from Nordstrom Rack and by Vince Camuto.

Although the look shows a lot of skin, it is balanced by all black on the bottom.

How do you wear all black?
